Description
Milk thistle (Sylibum marianum) is a well-known herbaceous plant in popular tradition, used for problems and liver protection. The fruit and seeds are particularly rich in silymarin, a mixture of three flavolignans (silybin, silyidian, silycristin). The hepatoprotective activity of the plant against toxic agents (including ethanol) is attributed to silymarin.
Jamieson’s milk thistle is standardized to 80% in silymarin. Jamieson exclusively selects seeds from milk thistle plants that grow in Eastern Europe and are harvested in early autumn. The liquid extract is encapsulated without the use of alcohol.
