What’s this
CurZen is a supplement based onLongvida® turmeric and ginger, two plant extracts that act synergistically, stimulating and promoting digestive functions. But it is not only in reference to the stomach that their reputation as an elixir of well-being arises.
Turmeric, in fact, also exerts a beneficial action on the complex mechanism of functions performed by the liver and has an interesting antioxidant activity that protects the body from damage caused by free radicals.
Ginger promotes regular gastrointestinal motility and supports the cardiovascular system, supporting its proper functionality.
What it is useful for and how it works
TURMERIC
This distant relative of ginger comes from the tropics, also known as the “saffron of the Indies”, due to the lively yellow color of the pulverized root. This is because turmeric roots contain curcumin, the main active component of the plant and a golden-yellow pigment that makes turmeric useful for its medical properties. Curcuma longa or tumeric, in fact, is one of the most important Indian spices, used for millennia in Ayurvedic medicine in the treatment of alterations in the skin, eyes, osteoarticular tissues and gastrointestinal tract. In current use, turmeric is also used toimprove liver function, as well as as an antioxidant.
THE PROBLEM OF THE LOW AVAILABILITY OF CURCUMIN
Clinical studies of over thirty years reveal that curcumin is poorly bioavailable because it is rapidly transformed in the liver into a form that cannot be assimilated by the body and then eliminated in the intestine.
The use of turmeric “as it is” therefore presents a major problem: the difficulty with which the body is able to assimilate its active ingredient curcumin. Only a very low percentage is able to enter the circulation and exert its beneficial effects. On the contrary, the combination of turmeric with a lipid fraction greatly increases the absorption of curcumin.
CURCUMA Longvida®
Curcuma Longvida® is a turmeric “embraced” to a lipid portion. This special bond obtained thanks to a patented technology maximizes the use of curcumin at the cellular level.
- Recent studies have shown that Longvida® turmeric, compared to turmeric alone, increases its absorption by 65 times in the body, significantly increasing its beneficial action in the liver.
- Compared to other forms of turmeric linked to phospholipids,Curcuma Longvida® shows a higher fraction of free turmeric in the blood, more easily usable by the body.
- Toxicological data highlighted both in vitro and in clinical studies, demonstrate that Turmeric Longvida®contains ingredients recognized as “safe”, confirming its high quality profile.
GINGER
Many know this spice for its spicy flavor and pleasant, hot and pungent aroma. Its scientific name is Zingiber officinale and oriental medicine has always assigned it a leading role among medicinal substances.
The phytotherapeutic applications of ginger (or ginger) are truly multiple and diversified. The best known and most documented relate toits stimulating properties of digestive functions (salivary and gastric secretion)and support in all those difficult conditions affecting the gastrointestinal system: belching, stomach swelling, nausea, meteorism, flatulence. In fact, ginger promotes digestive functions, regular gastrointestinal motility and the elimination of gases. All this thanks to its ability to stimulate normal peristaltic movements in the stomach and intestines. Hence its possible use even in cases of nausea.
Some studies reveal that ginger has beneficial effects on the functionality of the cardiovascular system, as it is able to promote normal blood circulation. The joint functions also benefit from its intake, due to its intervention in counteracting localized tensions.
